Fund Development and Communications Assistant
The Association for the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured (ARBI) is an agency committed to improving the lives of individuals who have sustained a severe brain injury, including stroke. We believe in teamwork, respect and quality of life.
Our agency is evolving and we are looking for people to grow with us! We are currently hiring a Fund Development and Communications Assistant. This individual works closely with the Fund Development and Communications Manger. Responsibilities include assisting with the overall communications, marketing and fundraising efforts, maintaining and growing ARBI’s social media presence and planning/executing events throughout the year. Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for a host of duties including:
- Assisting with third party and in-house special events
- Overseeing the coordination of various mail-outs
- Assisting with donor correspondence, developing written proposals and on-line applications for prospects under $5,000
- Assisting with the development of an e-philanthropy strategy
- Assisting with donor stewardship
- Assisting with development and implementation of the communications/marketing strategy
- Supporting online communications/marketing; overseeing website, social media, online newsletter
- Overseeing development of online communications procedures
- Assisting with content creation for the annual report
- Assisting with branding initiatives
- Developing sponsorship packages for various in-house events ($10,000 and under)
- Other related duties as determined by the Fund Development Manager (FDM)
Qualifications:
The preferred applicant will have post secondary education in marketing, communications, special events or fundraising, 2-5 years special events experience, preferably in a non-profit/volunteer environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to use online communication/social media tools with confidence is essential.
The ideal candidate is well organized with strong planning skills, is detail oriented and possesses excellent time management and computer skills. The successful candidate must demonstrate initiative and be able to work efficiently either independently or in a team environment. A results oriented person with the ability to work well under pressure and coordinate competing priorities will do well in this position. Creativity and fresh ideas are welcome! The position also requires someone who is available to work early mornings or evenings, on occasion.

Receptionist/Office Assistant
ARBI currently has a position for a highly motivated person with excellent computer and interpersonal skills for a position in the Front Office.
Responsible for providing superior reception and administrative support, you possess a strong customer service focus and enjoy working in a diverse environment with changing priorities. This position also supports the administrative needs of the Volunteer Program Leader.
Full-time positions available from May 22, 2012 - August 24, 2012. Work hours Monday – Friday 8:30AM – 4:00PM. The deadline to apply is March 23, 2012.
Qualifications
- Administrative Professional Certification or 5-7 years related experience, preferably in a non-profit environment
- Accurate typing skills 55 - 70 wpm and proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (skills will be tested)
- Knowledgeable about Access and experienced in data entry
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, time management and planning for diverse needs
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload and work with changing priorities
- Demonstrated client focus
This position works five days/week, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
