July 21, 2023 > Events, News
We are overjoyed to celebrate a momentous milestone in ARBI’s journey—the outstanding success of our participation in the 2023 Calgary Marathon Charity Challenge. With immense gratitude, we announce that thanks to the unwavering support of our incredible donors and the dedication of our passionate participants, we have surpassed our fundraising goal of $70,000, raising an astonishing total of $83,873! This exceptional achievement not only marks a new record for ARBI but also places us as the top fundraiser among all charities, earning us an additional $2,500 in recognition of our commitment.
Congratulations to all the Calgary Marathon participants, including our very own ARBI clients, John and Sheldon, who completed the 5KM virtually, and Ray and Mike, who took part in the 5KM in person. Your dedication, perseverance, and hard work have led to a remarkable achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of each one of you!
A special shoutout goes to Tech-Wood Building Components Ltd. for their extraordinary donation of $70,000 to our clients participating in the Charity Challenge! Your kindness and compassion are truly inspiring, and your significant contribution has made a lasting impact on the lives of brain injury and stroke survivors.
We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the enthusiastic volunteers who manned the ARBI cheer station on race day at the Charity Challenge Block Party. Your encouragement spurred on our participants, helping them go the extra mile. Your presence and support made a tremendous difference, and we are thankful for your time and dedication.
Thanks to your collective efforts, ARBI has just received the Xcite2 iFES device, enhancing our rehabilitation program for years to come. The device’s ability to stimulate active muscle contractions will play a crucial role in improving mobility and assisting individuals in performing essential daily tasks such as eating and grooming. By providing this advanced technology, you have contributed to the empowerment, independence, and reconnection of those on the path to recovery.
This fall, our dedicated therapists at ARBI will receive on-site training for the Xcite2, ensuring that we make the most out of this cutting-edge technology. We look forward to keeping you updated on the impact your generosity has made and sharing stories of the lives you have touched through your support.
To all participants, donors, volunteers, and supporters—your involvement in this journey has made a profound difference in the lives of brain injury and stroke survivors in our community. Once again, we express our sincerest thanks to each and every one of you. Together, we will continue to build a brighter future for all.
