Caregiver Support Group
When a loved one suffers a brain injury, it affects the entire family. Caregivers often experience a range of emotions, including burden, distress, anxiety, anger, and depression. Taking care of yourself is crucial to continue providing the best care for your loved one and avoid caregiver burnout.
At ARBI, we understand the challenges caregivers face. Our monthly Caregiver Support Group provides a compassionate, non-judgmental space where caregivers can connect, share their experiences, and openly discuss the challenges they encounter. Our co-facilitators, including a social worker and a psychologist, are here to provide expert guidance and support.
- Where: ARBI, 311 Cedar Crescent SW, Calgary, AB
- When: Third Thursday of each month, 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. (September–June)
Through these sessions, you’ll find emotional support from fellow caregivers who can relate to your journey. Additionally, you’ll gain access to valuable information and resources aimed at promoting your well-being, reducing conflict, and building resilience.
ARBI focuses on the needs of unpaid caregivers who care for loved ones who have experienced a brain injury or stroke. During our meetings, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with other caregivers who share similar experiences, all while prioritizing your own health and well-being.
Please note: This group is exclusively for caregivers; loved ones who have experienced a brain injury should not attend.
