For the first time in three years, ARBI held a Stampede Breakfast for over 350 clients, families, friends, volunteers, and community members on July 13, 2022.
ARBI was honoured to have special guests, Nicholas Milliken, Minister of Infrastructure, bring greetings from the province, and Councillor Pootmans do likewise from the City of Calgary. The Kinsmen Club of Stampede City and Cosmopolitan International Club of Calgary lent many eager hands to the preparation and serving of our pancake breakfast, featuring sausages donated by Spolumbos. A huge thank you to our dedicated ARBI volunteers and volunteers from RPM Software who helped ensure things went off without a hitch. Some clients were also very excited at the opportunity to volunteer and helped to greet guests at our two very busy registration desks that morning.
Guests had the opportunity to bid on 17 silent auction items ranging from signed Calgary Flames merch to beautifully handcrafted items made by ARBI clients in our woodshop. Locally curated gift baskets by Local Love Gifting Co and handmade dog toys by ARBI client, Lucas, were also on display and available to purchase. PALS (Pet Access League Society) was on-site roaming the corral with their therapy dogs, who got no shortage of attention!
Blues-rockers, Big Daddy & the Cool Cats, kept the crowd entertained and shared the stage with ARBI client, Colleen, and World Champion Bull Rider, Cody Snyder, who shared their motivational stories. The highlight of the morning was the inspirational story shared by former professional bull rider and brain injury survivor, Curtis Anderson, who really struck a chord with those in the audience who are on their own rehabilitation journeys. The whole event was made possible by sponsorship from our friends at Grover Law Firm.
ARBI would like to thank all of our amazing guests, clients, volunteers, and sponsors for an unforgettable morning. We can’t wait to do it all again next Stampede!
