World Stroke Day is October 29: Join ARBI’s Free Virtual Class & the #GreaterThan Challenge

September 25, 2024 > Events, News

At ARBI, we are dedicated to supporting stroke survivors through rehabilitation and community integration. In partnership with the World Stroke Organization, we are excited to promote this year’s #GreaterThan Global Challenge in honour of World Stroke Day on October 29th.

Why It Matters

  • 1 in 4 people will experience a stroke in their lifetime, but regular physical activity can significantly lower your risk.
  • Committing to 30 minutes of exercise five times a week can reduce your risk of stroke by 25%.

This challenge encourages everyone to engage in daily physical activity throughout October—whether it’s walking, cycling, swimming, or any exercise that challenges you. Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, but many strokes are preventable with lifestyle changes, including physical activity.
